Grace Assembly Klang
In the early 1960s, two Singaporean Bible Institute of Malaya students established Grace Chapel in a tailor's shop, igniting a journey of faith. With humble beginnings, they shared Bible stories, converting hearts. Despite initial challenges, the chapel expanded, baptizing many in Christ.
Leaders like Reverend Richard David Hammersla and Pastor Ong Poh Heng carried on the legacy. In 1971, Pastor Henry Ramaya (now Rev Dr. Henry K Pillai) joined, propelling the church's growth. The focus on youth led to various ministries, like Grace Children’s Church, Youth Ministry, Young Adults, and Royal Rangers.
From a tailor's shop to a repurposed theater, Grace Assembly thrived, welcoming all to experience God's wonders. Grace's outreach extended to less privileged, with ministries like Rumah KIDS and rehab center Grace Centre. Grace Harmony Ministry, men's and women's groups, and Tower of Incense fueled a sense of community and prayer.
Pastor Ong's vision of outreach became reality, as missions spread nationally and internationally. The first Mission Team went to Southern Thailand, sparking a global movement across Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Tanzania, and more.
Grace Assembly evolved from a simple chapel into a worldwide church, nurturing spiritual growth and outreach. Seeds planted by early pioneers blossomed into fruitful ministries, thanks to God's guidance and love. This fifty-year journey stands as a testament to His faithfulness, empowering us to share His love.
